If you are reading this, thank you for your willingness to seek mental health services. Recognizing that you could use someone to walk alongside you while moving through your darkest times takes true courage. My therapeutic approach involves creating a safe space for one to be heard, seen, and validated. I believe it is in the sharing and understanding of our stories right up until the moment you walk through my door that transformational healing of the self can begin. So many of us spend our lives hiding away or simply coping with the stressors which come our way. There is often no room left to discover our authentic selves, much less live in a way which reflects who we are at our core. No matter your background, beliefs, or previous experience with therapy, I gladly welcome you. Above all else, I will meet you where you are without judgment, mind and heart open. As a client-centered therapist, I will work with you on your desired treatment goals, keeping in mind that life may throw curveballs and require adjustments to our previous plans.

My holistic strengths-based approach to therapy helps you empower yourself, shed illusions of powerlessness, and overcome trauma while developing the tools to make mindful decisions in the future. I have a background in psychodynamic therapy but also utilize modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I specialize in grief/loss, aiding clients in the non-linear path grief often takes. I also enjoy working with couples. I would be honored to assist you with creating stronger, healthier, fulfilling relationships with yourselves and each other.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to read this profile. I am here whenever you are ready to begin the process. I look forward to meeting you!

Welcome! My name is Libby (she/her/ hers) and I am so glad you are reading this! I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the clinician and client. We will work together in order to make a comfortable space for your needs in our sessions together. Once we create this space, we will begin to build a relationship centered around your individual needs and explore therapeutic interventions to increase your quality of life and overall wellbeing.

As individuals, we all have our own unique experiences and backgrounds along with various obstacles we are challenged with. In sessions, there will be space to explore and process these challenges or barriers, along with exploring helpful coping skills or reframing our anxious or negative thought processes that may be hindering our growth. Together, we will find what treatment plan best suits you and your goals through a person-centered and holistic approach.

Although I have experience working with people of all ages, I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I implement a trauma-focused lens in regards to my therapeutic interventions while considering Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I have experience in working with individuals who identify with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, PTSD, and am a strong ally for my LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC brothers and sisters.  I applaud you for being brave and choosing to prioritize your mental health and would be honored to be a small part of your journey towards an increased quality of life and overall wellbeing.

My job is to create a space for you to engage in healing, learning, and growth - to help you sort through all of the feelings and thoughts that can come from navigating the world we live in. As we begin working together, we’ll build a good working relationship, as well as set goals to help you figure out what you’d like to move towards in therapy.

When working together, I’ll ensure that there’s a balance between building skills for mindfully navigating your present environment and exploring your past to heal from emotional wounds. To accomplish this, I’ll draw from a variety of humanistic, trauma-informed, and healing-centered perspectives. Some of my approaches include models of grief work, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). The glue that holds all of this together is the understanding that 1) you have inherent strengths, dignity, and worth; 2) that systems of oppression and our environments can make it challenging to thrive; and 3) you are the expert in your lived experience.
